Abstract

800,059. Lamp-holders. WARD & GOLDSTONE, Ltd., and HOLT, H. May 16, 1957 [Aug. 17, 1956], No. 25177/56. Class 38 (1). A lamp holder for mounting in an aperture in a panel comprises a resilient insulating body 10 having a flange 11 adjacent one end and integral claws 20 formed on said end adapted for snapfastener engagement in the aperture. A metal shell 21 is retained in the body by tongues 23 thereon which engage recesses 24 in the body and a central contact is carried by an insulating bush 25 backed by a spring 26. Where the holder provides an earth return through the panel, the shell 21 carries tongues 31 at its outer end which are bent over to lie between the claws 20 and contact the edge of the aperture. Alternatively a tongue 34, Fig. 8, on the shell may project from the rear of the body 10 for connection to a separate return lead 36. In either case, the shell may be formed with bayonet slots 42 or integral projections 44 arranged helically to form a screw thread.
