Abstract
1,203,188. Two-part couplings. THORN LIGHTING Ltd. 9 May, 1969, No. 23797/69. Heading H2E. A moulded panel-mounting housing 10 has an aperture (not shown) for receiving a fluorescent lamp starter switch 13 of complementary shape and size to the opening, a flange 17 which abuts the panel (not shown), and one or more inwardly resilient legs 20 integral with the housing body 11, attached thereto at one end only, adjacent but spaced from the flange 17 at the other end and having an outermost surface 22 which diverges from the body in the direction of the flange. Rotation of the housing in the panel is prevented by a square projection 26 on the flange which co-operates with the panel aperture. The legs 20 are wedge-shaped and are attached to the body 11 at the apex and are flush with the innermost surface of the aperture. The body is closed at one end by a portion 30 which has slots 33 receiving U- shaped contacts 31 which are retained by tabs 34. Wire leads are attached to the contacts by pushing their bared ends into slots 35. The contacts are accessible to the contacts 32 of a switch 13 through arcuate slots in the interior face of the portion 30 (Fig. 3, not shown). The arcuate slots have a large entry aperture (41) and a narrower portion (38) dimensioned such that after insertion and rotation, shoulders (42) retain the switch 13.
