Abstract
1301599 Lamp housing AMP Inc 24 Aug 1971 [24 Sept 1970] 39756/71 Heading F4R An electric lamp tubular housing comprises a body which is divided longitudinally into two identical body parts enclosing the lamp bulb, these body parts having latches which secure them together in assembled relationship to form the housing, and a lens part having an opening for receiving end portions of the body parts which it helps to retain together. Each body part comprises a lug 5 and a slot 6, the lug of one part fitting into the slot of the other and held by the snap-action of latch 5a. Alignment of the two body parts is carried out by projections 10, 10<SP>1</SP> and 12 co-operating with slots 11, 11<SP>1</SP> and 13. With the two body parts fitted together, lugs 16 remain on the outer surface and co-operate with grooves in the lens cap to retain the latter in position over the end of the body. Contacts 4 may be provided comprising outer sections 4a connecting with the external circuit and inner sections 4c connecting with the lampbulb, and other internal electrical components associated with the lampbulb if present. The lamp housing is held in position on a panel by the rim of the lens cap and wing- shaped flexible lugs 7.
