Abstract

1,112,054. Lamp socket. UNITED-CARR Inc. 9 Feb., 1967 [9 Feb., 1966], No. 6278/67. Heading H2E. [Also in Division E2] A lamp socket 10 for assembly in an aperture in a support (12) comprises an insulating body 10 with a lamp-receiving cavity 22, lampengaging contacts 50 in the cavity, outwardly extending wings 30 spaced to define opposed slots 31 and forwardly-extending arms 34 having bent back resilient end portions (36) extending through slots 31 and engaging the walls of the aperture. As shown, Fig. 2, contacts 50 are located in the housing by channels therein, and prongs 44 engage the wall to prevent withdrawal. The contacts 50 are connected to portions 48 with protuberances 54 for engagement with printed circuitry on the support.
