Abstract

1364320 Two-part couplings CANNON ELECTRIC (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd 26 Oct 1972 [26 Oct 1971] 49623/71 Heading H2E A connector for a tape cable comprises a first insulating member, Fig. 1, round which a bared portion of a tape cable 23 is wrapped holes 24 engaging studs 6, 7. Rear portions 1, 2 made flexible by slots 5 deform as the first member is pushed into the rectangular aperture of a second member, Fig. 2, and catches 14 hold the members together. Further catches 12, 15 secure the first and second members to an aperture in a panel in such a way that the exposed portions of cable 23 contact a further tape cable portions of which pass through the panel aperture. A spring member 17 in the aperture, or on the first member, Fig. 4 (not shown), may be provided to enhance contact between the cables. Cable 23 may alternatively or additionally engage contacts in the second member.
