Abstract

940,518. Cable couplings. BURNDY CORPORATION. Jan. 2, 1962[ Jan. 3, 1961], No. 200/62. Heading H2E. Tape cables 10, 30 are interconnected by a connector 50 consisting of an insulating plate 52 carrying contacts 54 in apertures therein and which project from opposite sides of the plate into engagement with selected bared conductors of the cables. The assembly may be held together by a clamp 62. The cable conductors may be bared by making holes in the insulation or removing the whole of the insulation adjacent the connector. The connector contacts may comprise discs forcefitted in holes in the plate 52 or they may be C-shaped springs, the legs of which engage opposite sides of the plate.
