704,320. Cyclone furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. Dec. 19, 1952 [Dec. 21, 1951], No. 32229/52. Class 51 (1) A number of cylone furnaces 1A, 1B, 1C, each discharge through a side wall of a secondary combustion chamber and towards an opposite side wall of the secondary chamber below which is a gas outlet from the chamber, the side walls towards which different cyclone furnaces discharge defining different sides of a common gas uptake or shaft. The gas uptake is defined by three walls 4A, 4B, 4C, which terminate above the floor of the secondary combustion chamber, gases from each of the cylone furnaces flowing under the respective walls to the uptake. Extensions of the walls 4A and 4C divide the secondary combustion chamber into three compartments. Slag outlets 55, 56, are provided in the floor of the secondary combustion chamber.
