Class 80 (1) A flat or V-belt comprises two separate layers - a reinforced inner or base layer 1 having a high modulus of elasticity, and an outer layer 3 having a low modulus of elasticity, the two layers being interlocked by a central groove and by interfitting undulations which substantially prevent relative movement. The low modulus outer layer maintains the slack side of the inner layer in contact with its pulleys.
