Abstract

788,147. Driving-belts. LAVER, L. July 20, 1956, No. 22603/56. Class 80 (1). An endless driving belt of trapezoidal section comprises a body 10 of rubber or other elastomer in which is embedded a strip 12 of corrugated steel forming one or more complete turns around the belt. As shown, the body 10 is covered with several layers of rubber-impregnated canvas, and the strip 12 forms two complete turns. If only one turn is employed the ends of the strip are nested and overlap by the span of one corrugation. Two or more separate strips may be provided at different distances from the outer side of the belt.
