Abstract

412,859. Endless - belt elevators. BAXTER, Ltd., W. H., 71, Gelderd Road, Leeds, and BAXTER, W. H., Knapping Mount, West Grove Road, Harrogate. Dec. 14, 1933, No. 35169. [Class 78 (i).] An elevator comprises a flexible non-stretchable continuous steel band 1, receptacles 6 on one side of it, and transverse stiffening bars 7 on the other. The bars extend the full width of the band, and are connected to the receptacles by bolts 8 passed through the belt. Strips 10 of rubber, leather, balata belting &c. are secured to the pulley gripping portions of the belt for increasing adhesion. These strips, or layers of cork, may be attached to the rims of the pulleys instead of to the belt. Additional transverse ribs or bars may be secured to the belt between the bars 7.
