Abstract

161,908. Baker, F. H. Oct. 7, 1920. Belts.-A driving-belt for dynamos, motorbicycles, fans &c., comprises two or more longitudinal strips of leather, canvas, rubber, &c. A, A', secured together by transverse rivets a situated towards the outer edge, which are also joint-pins for the links b of an articulated metal band B, fitted between the strips. The strips A, A<1> are set edgeways towards the centres of the pulleys they operate upon and are notched at intervals as at a<1> to make them pliable. They may also be bevelled to form a wedge-shaped belt for operation with grooved pulleys. The belt is fastened by means of screw bolts a<2> passing through recessed ends of the strips.
