Abstract

387,800. Driving-belts. WHITTLE, O. L., Rose & Crown Street. Warrington, Lancashire. Dec. 4, 1931, No. 33599. [Class 80 (i).] In a link belt in which pairs of non-metallic blocks connected together by screws 7 or the like are interconnected by metal links 6 having end pivots engaging holes 5 in the blocks, each block comprises an inside plate 4 made of vulcanized fibre or like material to which is attached by adhesive means, such as by vulcanizing or cementing, an outside plate 8 of rubber or rubber-impregnated material, the screw 7 or the like serving solely to connect the two inside members 4. Each of the latter may be made of two or more parts secured together, and each outside member 8 may be cupped as shown in Fig. 3 so as to embrace the edges of the member 4.
