794,072. Universal joints. METALASTIK, Ltd. Nov. 8, 1956 [Feb. 23, 1956], No. 5709/56. Class 80 (2). In a universal joint drive is transmitted through the links 12 coupled to the driving and driven members 10, 11 by flexible joints. Each joint comprises a spherical inner member 15 mounted on a stud 17 and enveloped in a rubber or like material which is compressed between two or more circumferentially-spaced parts 17. The layer of rubber like material 16 may be bonded to the member 15 and/or the parts 17. The links 12 may be arranged to be all in tension or compression or some may be in tension and others in compression.
