Abstract

749,828. Driving belts. BURTEX PLASTICS, Ltd. March 15 1954 [Dec. 30, 1952], No. 32926/52. Class 80(1) In a driving belt comprising sets of friction pads, or pads supporting friction surfaces, interconnected by links, the pads 17 are formed with integral pegs 18 which engage with holes or recesses in the opposite pad and also serve as pivots for the connecting links 14. Both pegs may be or one pad and the recesses in the other, and more than two pad: may be arranged in a set for engagement by additional connecting links. The pads are preferably of moulded plastic material and enlargements 2( are provided as bearing surfaces for the connecting links 14. The pads of a set may be secured together by pins or screws or by adhesives. 'Friction surfaces of leather, rubber or wood may be secured to the outer faces of the pads.
