Description
The invention is based on US Pat. No. 945,389 and, like this, relates to an endless one Toothed belt, which has a toothed, in particular provided with a cover fabric layer and on their Rear side near the tooth roots an intermediate layer made of rubber or the like.
In the known toothed belt (USA. Patent 2 945 389) is to avoid the usual Toothed belt in the longitudinal direction of the belt in the foot area of the teeth or in the area of the base of the Deformation and stress concentrations occurring in tooth gaps and, as a result, straight Alternating breaks in the belt, which often arise from the area of the tooth gaps, change the arrangement the mentioned intermediate layer of rubber od. Like. Made so that the tooth gaps or those forming them Grooves are cut into said intermediate layer. This should give the connection a better hold achieved between the bearings of the teeth and prevented the rubber liner or the like breaks in the area of the tooth gaps and the damage listed above occurs. Though through the cross-sectional weakening of the rubber intermediate layer in the area of the tooth gap bottoms on the one hand a greater one Flexibility of the toothed belt can be achieved, this cross-sectional weakening affects the other hand harmful, because, as experience has shown, the timing belt will break in the area of the tooth roots at the points where the rubber liner with the edges of the tooth roots meets and the flexibility loses effectiveness, not prevented, but on the contrary even promoted.
The invention is therefore based on the object to the extent that the toothed belt of the known type mentioned to improve that the most favorable flexibility possible in the critical areas of the belt favorable strength properties of the tape is achieved.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the corrugated intermediate layer made of rubber or the like in the area of the root of the respective tooth one of this pioneering, transversely to the longitudinal direction of the tooth corrugated wave crest forms, the ends of which in the area the tooth gap floors adjacent to this tooth root lie.
In solving this problem, this became known per se on the basis of British patent specification 788 147 Design feature, a corrugated one for the purpose of flexibility and to reinforce a V-belt To apply liner, used. However, the known feature is modified according to the invention because it is not, as in the present case, a yielding one, but rather a a rigid, namely an intermediate layer made of steel, which, moreover, has neither inside nor inside middle, but in the radially outer cross-sectional area of the V-belt, therefore just opposite to the intermediate layer according to the invention, and ultimately nothing else than represents a tensile intermediate layer.
In this respect there is no relation to the present, corrugated intermediate layer, with which only the provided one Task can be solved satisfactorily and special advantages can be achieved. This is before especially to mention that in the formation of the toothed belt according to the invention in contrast to the known toothed belt (US Pat. No. 2,945,389) for a weakening of the cross section the intermediate layer can be dispensed with without sacrificing the flexibility of the belt. From it results in the possibility of making both demands on an endless toothed belt, namely as-
Alles in allem erfüllt somit der Zahnriemen gemäß der Erfindung maximal alle an ihn zu stellenden Forderungen.probably the requirement for great resistance to fractures as well as the requirement for high flexibility to meet optimally. The inventive arrangement of a corrugated intermediate layer Made of softer material in the area of the tooth root leads to a large degree of equalization of the stress and deformation pattern even with the widening desired for reasons of strength of the tooth root compared to the back width. It is also essential that the shear stress transmission is not impermissibly impaired in the area of the intermediate layer, whereby the form fit between the teeth of the belt and those of the gear, d. H. the main purpose of the timing belt, is fully fulfilled. This is based on the comparatively large, despite the low modulus of elasticity Shear strength of the intermediate layer. Finally, another advantageous effect is the tensile and compressive strength the connection between the tooth root and the continuous belt body in cross-section height, d. H. in the radial direction of the overrunning wheel. This is especially important at relatively high and lengthways narrow belt teeth tilting of the latter with respect to the continuous belt body switched off about a transverse axis running through the belt foot. All in all, the Toothed belt according to the invention a maximum of all demands to be made on him.
This is supported by further advantageous refinements of the subject matter in question. The teeth can be made of a harder rubber material than the corrugated, exist intermediate layer formed by natural or synthetic rubber, it being expedient is a Shore hardness of the teeth between 80 and 90 and a Shore hardness of the liner between 50 and 60 to choose. It has also proven to be advantageous to attach to the underside of the corrugated intermediate layer to connect a harder rubber layer.
For the endless toothed belt according to the invention, which can be varied in this way, an advantageous, simple one is also used Proposed manufacturing method according to which on toothed strips made of hard rubber as the material for the teeth in the area of the tooth roots outside the teeth, the layer made of soft rubber material is placed and the racks are partially pressed into this position, whereby the in Belt longitudinal direction corrugated soft rubber layer is formed in the tooth root area.
In detail, this method can be carried out expediently in such a way that a fabric layer is inserted into the grooves of a steel plate separated by webs that the toothed racks made of hard rubber and with a rectangular cross-section are inserted into the grooves lined in this way, that then the layer of soft rubber material and then, following this layer, the next the above-mentioned harder rubber layer, with a hardness similar to that of the toothed strips, is applied, that the compact thus formed is vulcanized from the steel plate in a manner known per se onto a roller with a Rubber die is stretched from a series of longitudinal grooves and teeth that exactly correspond to the grooves and webs of the steel plate, that a cord layer is then wound around the compact in a manner known per se, that further one last rubber layer and an outer fabric are placed and that finally the entire arrangement is vulcanized in a manner known per se using heat and pressure.
This method makes partial use of the prior art (U.S. Patent 2,983,637, British Patent 788 035 and Swiss patent 298 235), compared to which it, however, like the Formulations show "in a manner known per se" is clearly delimited.
Es zeigtThe invention will now be explained using a Ausführungsbeio game with reference to the drawings. It shows
Fig. 1 einen Abschnitt des fertigen Zahnriemens nach der Erfindung in symmetrischer Darstellung, F i g. 2 einen Schnitt längs der Linie 7-7 in Fig. 1,Fig. 1 shows a section of the finished toothed belt according to the invention in a symmetrical representation, F i g. 2 is a section along line 7-7 in FIG Fig. 1,

As can be seen from Fig. 1 and 2, there is Toothed belt 28 made of teeth 15, which are provided with a cover fabric 14 with oblique threads, an overlying, Corrugated intermediate layer 16 made of soft rubber material or the like with a Shore hardness of 50 to 60, to which another rubber layer 17 with a Shore hardness approximately equal to the teeth 15 is attached from 80 to 90 followed by; Above the rubber layer or rubber layer 17 there is a cord layer 22, those with a rubber intermediate layer 23 provided as a traction layer and an overlying one Outer fabric 27 is covered. The corrugated intermediate layer is an essential part of the toothed belt 16. It runs outside the tooth area and only extends to the foot points of the Roots of the grooves 25 approach, from where they bulge away from the tooth combs. These Arrangement, as already noted, suppresses the formation of fractures at the tooth roots and prevents such breaks from enlarging through the rest of the toothed belt.
The production of the toothed belt according to the invention takes place as shown in FIG. 3 to 7 show in one Series of manufacturing stages. In the first stage (Fig. 3) is in a steel plate 11 with grooves 12 and Web 13 the conventional, preferably rubber-impregnated cover fabric 14 with oblique threads inserted or pressed in with a form fit. Furthermore, in the grooves 12 lined in this way, the material for the teeth in the form of toothed strips 15 rectangular cross-section made of hard rubber (Shore hardness from about 80 to 90). In this arrangement, the intermediate layer 16 is then made of soft Rubber material with a Shore hardness of 50 to 60 is placed on which the further rubber layer 17 with a Shore hardness of 50 to 60 approximately equal to the teeth 15 follows. This arrangement forms the compact, which is removed from the steel plate 11 and in the second production stage on a roller 18 (Fig. 4), which is provided with a vulcanized rubber die 19 with longitudinal grooves 20 and teeth 21, wound up will. The grooves 20 and teeth 21 correspond exactly to the grooves 12 and webs 13 of the Steel plate 11 into which they fit after the compact has been wound up.
In der nächsten Stufe des Fertigungsverfahrens (F i g. 5) wird in an sich bekannter Weise die Cordlage 22 um den Preßling gewickelt, worauf im weiteren Fertigungsgang (F i g. 6) die GummizwischenlageIn the next stage of the manufacturing process (FIG. 5), the cord layer is made in a manner known per se 22 wrapped around the compact, whereupon the rubber liner in the further production process (FIG. 6)
Hierdurch erfolgt die Wellung nach Fig. 1 und 2.23 are placed as a rubber band layer and the outer fabric 27 as a cover fabric. The whole arrangement is now vulcanized in a manner known per se using heat and pressure. During this process stage, the harder toothed strips 15 come less than the softer ones Materials to flow, so that they are pressed outwards into the further layer that flows in the heat. This results in the corrugation according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
The complete coating 24 (Fig. 7) is removed from the roller 18 and by means of a per se known cutting device cut into the individual toothed belt 28.
It goes without saying that the main inventive concept does not relate to the above method limited. For example, it is possible to use the toothed belt in an inverted position, i.e. H. with the Tooth side outwards to produce.
