648,940. Chain gearing. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 31, 1948, No. 22939. [Class 80(i)] A sheave 4 for a chain 10 has circumferential recesses 5 for accommodating alternate links 10a and polygonal shaped side flanges 6 forming a series of flat surfaces 7 for the other links. The recesses 5 are shaped to the general form of the links and are separated by nibs 9 which may project above the flat surfaces 7.
