Abstract

Chain-wheels; positive-driving pulleys.-Pulleys for use in belt and chain gearing more particularly for elevators and conveyers, are covered with rubber a<1> having recesses b and projections c, which are preferably square or rectangular, therein. Individual links of a modified driving-chain are adapted to fit into the recesses, while the parts c project through spaces in the links so that a positive drive over the whole width of the pulley is obtained. The wheel, which may be of cast iron, is preferably provided with metal side flanges d, which may have tapered ends.
