A liquid bath air cleaner comprises a casing 1 having an inlet 6 an outlet 18, a closed bottom 2 and a removable cover 8 whereby the liquid cup 27, which is .adjacent the bottom of the casing and has a margin 28 seated on an annular gasket 4, together with the filter unit 19 above the cup may be removed through the top of the casing. The filter unit 19 is of curled hair or wire within a shell having imperforate side walls
