861,511. Air humidifier. WALTON LABORATORIES Inc. Oct. 10, 1958 [May 26, 1958], No. 32448/58. Class 55 (2). An air humidifier comprises a water tank 17 and a cover 18 fitted on the tank to form a housing within which is mounted above an apertured pan 21 a motor-driven atomizer for raising water from the tank and atomizing it, an air inlet 32 in the side wall of the cover and an air outlet 38 in the upper part of the cover partly surrounded by a vane 39 extending in a direction opposite to that in which the inlet opening faces. In use air flows in through the inlet opening over the surface of the water in the tank, up through the pan past the atomizer and out of the outlet opening over the surface of the vane. The inlet opening 32 has a movable damper so that the size of the inlet opening can be varied and the tank has a flange 13 enabling the humidifiier to be mounted in an air duct 11.
