861,309. Air humidifier. WALTON LABORATORIES Inc. Oct. 10, 1958 [May 26, 1958], No. 32449/58. Class 55 (2). An air humidifier comprises a water tank 10 having a top edge 11 forming a seating, an apertured pan 20 supported above the tank and carrying a motor-driven air impeller and an atomizer for raising water from the tank and atomizing it, a hood 13 extending over the atomizer and the pan and having a series of air outlet openings 38, an annular filter 14 held between the seating 11 and the hood 13 and providing an air inlet through air to be humidified is drawn. The filter may comprise air-pervious paper arranged in zig-zag formation and held between plates 39 and 40. In use air is drawn in through the filter to pass over the surface of the water in the tank and up through the pan and past the atomizer to the outlet openings 38. The humidifier may be suspended from a ceiling.
