Class 120(2) In the spinning, twisting or. cabling of yarn, the yarn is initially caused to bear against a yarn package on one side, then on the opposite side and then is wound on to the package on the side of initial contact but at a different level. The ring flyer may be driven and the bobbin braked or the bobbin may be driven and the ring flyer braked, brak- 'ing preferably being effected by a cord and weight drag device. Various arangements of apertures in ring flyers and means for mounting ring flyers are described. When using a two-armed flyer, Figs. 15 and 16, the yarn, after being partially wound on the flyer arm 50 is passed through a hole 51 in a blade 52, then through holes 7k and holes 8k; 9k of a blade 54, holes 10k, 11k of the 'blade 52 and finally on to the bobbin. A similarly apertured inverted flyer may be used.
