Abstract

700,978. Injectors. EDWARDS & CO. (LONDON), Ltd., W., and POWER, B. D. July 18, 1951 [Jan. 25,1950], No. 2006/50. Class 71. Access of liquid splashed from the boiler 1, Fig. 2, of a vapour vacuum pump and of liquid deposited on the wall 11 to a jet 12 is impeded by means e.g., a baffle 24 and a barrier 23 in the path of the vapour stream from the boiler 1 to the working jet 12. In a modification a baffle disc is disposed immediately below the inturned rim of the vapour tube, and in a further modification two semi-circular baffles are vertically spaced with diametrical edges overlapping. The baffle disc 26, Fig. 3, may also be disposed at the vapour inlet end of the vapour tube 28 which is of less diameter than the disc 26; the barrier being an inverted conical member 27 extending from the tube 28.
