[Class 25] _ [Also in Group XXVII] A protecting and guiding device at the outlet from one or more pipes discharging a vapour, air or gas, comprises a protecting wall arranged transversely to the direction of flow of the issuing medium and spaced from the outlet opening or openings, which protecting wall over the whole or a part of its periphery merges in a smooth curve into a redirecting surface adapted to redirect the flow deviated by the protecting wall back into its original direction, the redirecting surface being arranged on the concave side of the flow tlius redirected. As shown in Fig. 7 a pipe 1 is provided with a cover 5 supported by legs 4, the rounded surface 6 and the vertical surface 7 on the periphery of the cover serving to re-direct the flow to a vertical direction. In a modification, the pipe may be rectangular and side walls may be provided. In further modifications two or more pipes may have a common cover, or, as shown in Fig, 19, surfaces 35, 36 may be formed by extensions on one side of the pipes, flanges 37 being provided at the edges.
