Class 65 (ii) A pivot device for a movable member comprises a shaped block 24 having two faces disposed mutually at right angles and an angular recess opening into the faces, and an angular bent rod 27 engaged in the recess and projecting from both the faces, one projecting part serving as a pivot and the other serving to hold the block to a fixed support-surface. As shown, the device serves as a mounting for the seat 8 and cover 11 of a lavatory pan, the cover being formed with a central lug 10 disposed between spaced lugs 9 formed on the seat. The lugs are mounted on a tubular pivot 16 the ends of which are supported by the horizontally projecting ends of a pair of rods 27. The opposite end of each rod projects through an elongated aperture 25 adapted to render the block laterally adjustable, and is provided with a wing nut 14 for clamping the block to the lavatory pan. In a modification the horizontally projecting end of the rod 27 is hollow to receive a solid pivot.
