Abstract

The hinge has a fixed body for mounting on the frame, integral with which is a cylindrical rod acting as the hinge pin, fitting inside a block in a hollow head on the moving part. Means are provided for adjusting the position of the head in relation to the pin. Typically the head can slide on the block under the avtion of a spring, while a screw is accessible from outside the head and screws into a mating tapped hole in the block. The latter can have a bore for the pin offset from its centre line. The block position can be varied by shims inserted between it and the head, or the mating faces of the two can be serrated, so that the block can be slid into the head in several different positions.
