[Also in Group XXVIII] A method of terminating tubular textile braids consists of removing the braid 2 for a short distance of the cable 1, and taking the unravelled threads outwards and backwards over an annular soft resilient cushion 6 (e.g. of sponge rubber), the latter having behind it a metal or other washer 7. Integral with the end wall 4 of a connection box 3 is a screw-threaded cylinder 8, which engages with a screw-threaded sleeve 9. To secure the braid firmly between the parts 6, 7 the two members 8 and 9 are screwed together tightly.
