Abstract

462,194. Couplings for stranded wires or cables. MAYER. E. T. Nov. 13, 1935, No. 31370. [Class 109] [Also in Group XXXVI] The strands 4 of the wire or cable are received in grooves 3 around a screwed member 2 having a conical end 5, and a bush 7 having a complementary conical end 8 is provided between the end 5 and the usual screw-threaded thimble 6. In order to lock the thimble 6 upon the member 2, a washer 9 is provided, having projections engaging the grooves 3. After the lock nut 10 on the member 2 has been tightened, lateral extensions 11 are turned over so as to embrace the flats upon the thimble 6.
