[Also in Group XXVIII] In an electric wiring system, a metal conduit 1 having a protective coating 2, such as a polymer of vinyl chloride and a plasticizer, is secured at its ends to an internally-threaded socket 3 of a fitting by screwing the unthreaded conduit therein. The fitting may form part of a gland providing a fluid-tight joint between the conduit and a cable 10, the fitting 7 and gland-nut 5 screwing into a sleeve 4 to compress a rubber bush 6 between washers 12.
