Abstract
691,700. Twisting threads. COURTAULDS, Ltd. Nov. 23, 1951 [Nov. 24, 1950], No. 28756/50. Class 120(ii) , A method of uptwisting yarn without the use of a flyer comprises leading the yarn 1 from a rotating package 2 over an annular guide 5 mounted above and coaxial with the package and then through a second guide 7 mounted coaxial with the package 2 and having its lower yarn-contacting edge lying in or below the plane of the rubbing surface of the guide 5. The guide 5, which may be formed as the rim portion of a disc 6 having a concave upper surface or, alternatively, as a ring, rests upon, or is attached to, the flange 5 of the bobbin driven by the shaft 3.
