Abstract

690,066. Corsets. CAPRICE, Ltd. Jan. 17, 1951, No. 1337/51. Class 141. A foundation garment comprises an elastic strip adapted to encircle the wearer and to be secured with its ends in overlapping relation and having suspenders adjacent the two lower corners, at least one of the suspenders securing together the overlapping ends at the lower part of the garment. As shown, the strip 1 comprises panels 2-4, 6-8 of two-way stretch material and a central front panel 5 having a transversely stretchable upper part 9 and a two-way stretch lower part 10. At the upper ends are tapes 15, 16, preferably elastic, carrying hooks 13, 14 which are selectively engaged with eyes 17, 18 at the upper edge, an aperture 21 being provided for the passage of the tape 15 when the ends of the strip are overlapped. Suspenders 22-25 are provided, together with an aperture 21a through which the suspender 22 passes to secure the overlapped ends at the rear. If desired, several apertures 21, 21a may be provided to allow adjustment.
