Class 141 A girdle comprises a rear panel 111, side panels 116 and two front panels 130, and each side and each front panel consists of elastic sections 117, 121, 125 and 132, 135, 141, respectively, sewn together in overlapping relation by seams along their edges 120, 123, 124, 128 and 137, 140, 138, 144 respectively, the overlaps tapering from one end thereof to the other. The rear panel 111 comprises an upper portion 113 and a lower portion which may be in one piece or may consist of three overlapping sections 151, 154, 157.
