Abstract

1,249,959. Maternity tights. M. BETTI. 10 Aug., 1970 [13 Nov., 1969], No. 38379/70. Heading A3V. A pair of maternity tights in which the front portion of the body section 1 comprises two overlapping panels 3, 4, which are joined to each other by one row of stitching 5 along part of the lower edge of panel 3. Panel 3 is joined by stitching 7, and panel 4 by stitching 8 to the vertical edges of the rear pants portion 1. An elastic waistband 9 which is provided with button holes is sewn to the top edge of the body section, including the panels 3, 4, and button 10 at either end of the waistband engage in pairs of overlying button holes where two lengths of the waistband overlap each other. The waist size of the garment is determined by the amount by which the top edges of the panels 3, 4, overlap, and is then adjustable to confirm to the size of the wearer.
