Abstract
1,093,157. Girdles. CORDE DE PARIE Inc. Nov. 20, 1964 [June 11, 1964; Oct. 30, 1964], No. 47431/64. Heading A3V. A girdle or panty girdle comprises twoway stretch panels 12, 14 secured to waist and leg bands 16 and 20 respectively and cut away at the rear along edges 44. A front non-elastic insert 26 is reinforced by strips 34, 36, 38, the latter strip optionally forming a pocket for a stiffener and suspenders 40 being secured to the strips 36. Inner two-way stretch panels 48, 50 extend from a rear seam 52 to points adjacent the insert 26. The inner and outer panels are stitched together over the portions 64 of the edges 44 of the outer panels and over a portion of similar height of the edges 58 of the inner panels. The inner panels are free of the waistband along the edge 72 to allow the panels to slide over the waistband during e.g. bending. Suspenders 68 are secured to tapered portions 54 of the inner panels.
