679,754. Corsets. BIREN (CORSETS), Ltd., and BIREN, R. March 29, 1951 [March 29, 1950], No. 7872/50. Class 141. A girdle or like foundation garment of the type comprising two lateral elastic panels 10, 11, preferably of two-way stretch woven fabric and a narrow central connecting panel 12 which extends under the crotch and is preferably of softer material stretchable only vertically, includes a removable inelastic crotch insert 13 on the inside, the insert being secured at its ends to the central panel and the anchorage at one end having an elastic connection. This connection preferably comprises a woven elastic strip 15 secured to the front of the garment at 16 and connected to the insert by a press stud 17. Three spaced press studs may attach the insert directly to the garment at the rear.
