Abstract

548,229. Corsets, bathing-costumes, &c. HOLT, R. S. April 1, 1941. No. 4380. [Class 141] A corset, corselette, foundation garment, bathing suit, &c. comprises a V-shaped front panel A of non-stretchable material, two five-sided side panels F stretchable in one diagonal direction only, a back panel D stretchable in a vertical direction only, two substantially triangular insertions E made of fabric having elastic threads running in two or more directions, and top and bottom bands B, C circumferentially stretchable. The garment is fastened by a slide fastener, lacing, hooks and eyes, &c. in the front panel or at any other suitable position. In the case of a corset, a non-elastic cord H is threaded through loops K attached to the band C and through loops L on the stocking suspenders.
