215,006. Jenyns, E. R. April 24, 1923, [Convention date]. Corsets and abdominal belts; breast pads. - A surgical corset consists of three detachable parts, viz. abdominal, back, and breast supports. Each support is capable of separate use. Three or more overbelts B pass through loops in the abdominal portions A, A<1> and co-operate with three or more central lappets A in front. The overbelts pass alternately through one another at the back, and are attached to the separated edges of the back of the abdominal portions so as to avoid lacing. Stiffeners at the back of the corset may be each in two sections, for contraction or for separation. Four flaps and buttons may be arranged at the back and lacing devices may be employed so arranged as to enable the parts of the appliance to be separated. Partly elastic shoulder straps N and breast supports with three separate vertical lacings may be used. The breast supports may have pockets Q for the breasts provided with draw tapes V. Two extra pieces of fabric may be employed to complete any two or three separate surgical supports if desired for use separately.
