Abstract
688,282. Steam superheaters. VITKOVICKE ZELEZARNY KLEMENTA GOTTWALDA, NARODNI PODNIK, and DOLEZAL, R. April 28,1950 [May 2,1949], No. 10567/50. Class 123 (iii) In a two-stage steam-boiler superheater 2, 5 the final outlet steam temperature is controlled by two independent attemperators 3, 4 which are disposed in series between the superheater stages and are adapted respectively, at boiler outputs in excess of, say, 70 per cent minimum, to maintain constant the temperatures t 2 , t 4 of the steam issuing from the first attemperator 3 and the second superheater stage 5. Preferably the attemperator 3 is of the non-contact type and maintains the temperature t 2 equal to the normal temperature of the steam issuing from the superheater stage 2 at the above minimum output. On failure of the attemperator 4 the attemperator 3 may be controlled to maintain the final temperature t 6 constant. Specification 394,417 is referred to.
