In apparatus for spraying liquids, an air pump 3 is mounted within the liquid container 1 and actuated by a handle 13 that can be locked, so that it can be used as a carrying handle, by a bolt 9 engaging a bayonet slot in a member 10 attached to the container; a spring 7 is located between the piston 6 and the end of the cylinder to apply pressure to retain the catch. A lever 11 is attached to the handle and can be depressed to actuate a rod 15 abutting a diaphragm 15'and thus actuate a rod 17 to open the valve 18 to permit the outlet of the liquid. The passage 24 from the valve 18 communicates with a passage 23 at a higher level to prevent drip at the nozzle 20 at the end of spraying.
