Abstract

700,199. Reciprocating pumps for spraying liquids. WELCH, L. Feb. 25, 1952 [April 16, 1951], No. 8805/51. Class 102 (1). A liquid spraying device comprises a piston or diaphragm pump 7 actuated through a spring-loaded plunger 8 by an armature 5 vibrated by an electromagnet 3 supplied with alternating current. The armature is freely mounted in a body 1 and pivots about an abutment 13. The pump is mounted in a chamber 6 of the body and is readily detachable therefrom by removing from the body a cap 14 which is adapted to the screwed on a liquid container 16. Liquid is drawn through a filter 21 and a tube 20 and is delivered to a spray nozzle 25. The body has a carrying handle 2 and incorporates a push switch 27.
