Abstract

685,630. Spring clips. FERNBERG, E. B., and FERNTOL PATENTS, Ltd. Aug. 31, 1950 [Sept. 6, 1949; Sept. 23, 1949], Nos. 23079/49 and 24548/49. Class 44. A spring clip for securing articles to an apertured support comprises a base formed with an embossed portion engaging in the aperture and a spring tongue joined to the embossed portion extending parallel with the base to grip the support adjacent the aperture. In the form of Figs. 1 and 3 the base 21 carries a clipping arm 22 joined thereto by a portion 29 bent out of line with the base. A circular embossed portion 25 of substantially V-section is pressed out of the base 21, the portion being sheared through on its periphery between points 27, 28 to form a detent D. The spring tongue 26 at the other end is sheared out of the base and integral with the embossed portion at its root. Abutments for engaging the sides of the aperture opposite the detent D are formed on each side of the root of the tongue where it is joined to the embossed portion 25. In the form of Fig. 4 the base carries a pair of outwardly bowed arcuate arms 37, 38 for snap engagement with the edges of a C-section beading strip. The base is transversely bowed so that its edges bear firmly against the support.
