Class 39(iii) A split loop inductor 10 supplied with power from a single turn transformer secondary 13 and fins 11, has a slot or groove 14, or the equivalent, formed in it opposite the slit 12 to produce equal heating of the workpiece at these points. The inductor may be water-cooled and arranged outside the winding 13. In Fig. 6 the inductor 10 is in two parts and provided with current supply fins 11, dummy fins 20, and water cooling pipes 15.
