Abstract
618,207. Electromagnetic induction heating apparatus. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., BRIDLE, J. H., and BROWN, R. J. Nov. 2, 1946, No. 32575. [Class 39 (iii)] A single turn inductor 9, of copper pipe, is formed into a circular ring having its ends 9A and 9B overlapping and connected to mutually insulated current feed plates 11. The said ends are insulated at their point of overlap by mica strip, and the coil is connected to cooling-fluid pipes 13 brazed to the feed plates. To maintain accurate concentricity of the inductor and the work W, Fig. 6, the inductor is clamped between cylindrical blocks 14 and 15 of refractory insulating material, having end guide caps 23 and 24 of phosphor bronze, by screws 22. Specification 613,323 is referred to.
