Abstract
613,322. Induction heating. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., BRIDLE, J. H., and BROWN, R. J. June 19, 1946, No. 18340. [Class 39 (iii)] A method of detachably clamping an inductor to a high frequency transformer having a cylindrical sheet copper secondary a, Fig. 1, consists in providing the longitudinal edge portions of the secondary with a pair of jaws band c, each flanked by an insulating strip e and metal plate f. The jaw assemblies, separated by air gap d, are interconnected by clamping bolts g, each surrounded by an insulating bushing h. The inductor unit Fig. 2 comprises a liquid cooled copper ring i, the current connections to which consist of a pair of sheet copper plates j and k separated by a thin sheet of mica 1. Recesses m accommodate bushes h, and feed plates and k make contact over substantially the whole of the jaw surfaces. Specification 613,323 is referred to.
