Abstract
682,558. Induction heating. OHIO CRANKSHAFT CO. Aug. 17, 1950 [Aug. 19, 1949], No. 20432/50. Class 39(iii) Induction heating apparatus includes an inductor comprising a preheating portion B of parallel spaced conductors, and a final heating portion C of a closed loop, and means for moving workpieces A successively past the inductor. The portion B may be arranged to heat the workpieces to the Curie point and the portion C, which may be arranged closer to the workpieces, increases the heating to the quenchhardening temerature. The inductor may be of tubing and cooled by the circulation of water therethrough.
