Abstract
534,417. Electric induction heating. AJAX ELECTROTHERMIC CORPORATION. Jan. 17, 1940, No. 1043. Convention date, Jan. 26, 1939. [Class 39 (iii)] In a method for the inductive heating of tubes 6, an elongated oval coil 1 is used, of such length that the desired length of tube is heated. The tube is placed first at one side of the coil where the coupling is close, and is moved in steps towards the middle where the coupling is weaker and the heating is less, and finally is moved to the other side where the coupling and heating are again greater. The coil may be tilted to facilitate these movements, or a conveyer belt 7 may be used. The heating of successive tubes is completed in regular order.
