641,053. Induction heating. BARFIELD, R. H., GIBBS, M. G., and WILD-BARFIELD ELECTRIC FURNACES, Ltd. July 15. 1948, No. 19079. [Class 39(iii)] The edges of a metal strip 2 are heated by passing the strip through a high frequency coil 1, with the longitudinal axis of the strip at an angle to the coil axis. The coil may comprise a single turn or a helix, and quenching of the edges may follow. Specification 616,063 is referred to.
