Abstract

752,268. Induction heating. T. I. (GROUP SERVICES), Ltd. March 7, 1955 [March 27, 1954], No. 9026/54. Class 39(3). Metal is inductively heated by a coil supplied with current at normal mains frequency, i.e. 50 cycles/sec., incorporating a substantial proportion of .harmonics of that frequency. The harmonics may be produced by increasing the induction density in the iron core of the transformer feeding the heating coil. In order to heat the metal to higher temperatures the coil may be simultaneously supplied with high frequency current from a separate source.
