Abstract

850,157. Electric induction furnaces. GERAETEBAU-ANSTALT. March 17, 1959 [March 28, 1958], No. 9175/59. Class 39(3). In a vacuum soldering and annealing furnace the article 9 is surrounded by an auxiliary heating body 10 which is heated by a surrounding'induction heating coil 11, and the auxiliary heating body 10 is mounted movably relatively to the stationary coil so that it may be removed when the article is to be cooled. As shown the body 10 which may be of steel or graphite has a heat reflecting screen 12 e.g. of quartz and both the body 10 and the screen 12 are mounted on a support 13 which may be winched up and down a guide column 7 serving also as the support for the article 9.
