[Class 39(iii)] In an induction heater a non-ferrous, preferably copper, unbroken continuous sheath is arranged between the ferrous metal to be heated and the induction coil. In a preferred example sheath 23 is placed on to the outside of cylinder 20 of a boiler. The induction coil 25 is heat and electrically insulated by coverings 24 and 26.
