Abstract
682,113. Spray burners. HOBSON, Ltd., H. M. July 4, 1951 [July 28, 1950], No. 18902/50. Class 75(i) A burner nozzle comprises a valve 21 for admitting fuel from an inlet 13 to a swirl chamber 16, the valve or its. seat having swirl grooves 27, and a passage 25 for admitting fuel from the inlet to at least one tangential port 26 leading to the swirl chamber. The valve is cone shaped and is opened against the action of a spring 22 by the fuel pressure: The valve guide 14 is formed at its rear as a conical valve seat and forwardly it constitutes the swirl chamber 16. Two tangential passages 28 in the valve guide convey fuel to the valve. A fuel outlet orifice 18 is provided in a plate 17 closing the forward end of the valve guide, the orifice being axially aligned with the valve guide. On outer cover 11 for the nozzle has a fuel outlet 19 and air inlets 20.
